Study Analysis of Effectiveness

The project “Innovative practices for environmental protection phase II” has ended with its activities on the 14.11.2019. After two-year realization, the activities have left behind successful influence for protection of the environment, established cooperation between the regions Prespa in North Macedonia and Korcha in Albania and educated and motivated agro-producers and students to protect the environment and eat and produce healthy food.

 

In the period between 25th and 29th of March 2019 in Resen and 21 – 22 of March and 22 and 23 of April in Zvirine I Dvoran, within the framework of the project two training sessions were implemented. On the trainings took part agro producers from thePrespa region and Korcha region including almost 50% of womenwhich showed the interest of the women agro producers for increasing of their knowledge in innovative practices for agro producing.

The aim of the trainings was to make distinction between the old, gravitational techniques and the new modern techniques for irrigation of the agricultural plants that are providing rational usage of the water resources and are optimizing the irrigation. At the same time, presentation of the combined system of irrigation and fertigation was presented where the adding of the fertilizers at the zone of the active roots of the plants and their effects in terms of getting higher incomes and in terms of protection of the environment.

The participants, coming from all different ethnicities in the region were discussing the possibilities and the cost effectiveness of the using of the new integrated system of irrigation – fertigation and the benefits that they will get in terms of income and protection of the environment. At the same time they were discussing about the possibilities of joint cooperation and presentation on the European market, knowing that the best prize for the apples can be achieved only with quality apples.

On the 1st of November 2019, in the premises of the Center for Civic Initiative, the JTS – Joint Technical Secretariat Struga (Anntena) has made a monitoring visit. The purpose of the visit was monitoring of the activities implemented within the project “Innovative practices in environmental protection phase II”.
With the monitoring, the current situation in contrast to the original working plan of the project, as well as the project indicators and the logical framework were reviewed. There were also conversations about the promotion of the results of the project and the final event.

The representatives from the EU Delegations from Skopje and Tirana on 1st of February 2019 had a field visit of the Automatic Agro meteorological stations in Korcha where they had the opportunity to discuss with the agro producers that are the direct users of the services in the project.

During the visit, the agro producers explained the system for informing that is directly connected with the information gathered from the Automatic Agro meteorological stations. They have stated their satisfaction from the servicers that they are using in terms of guidelines for usage of the pesticides for the protection of the orchards. The agro producers explained their need of the functional agro chemical laboratory that will offer services for soil analyzing and recommendation of the usage of the fertilizers.

On the meeting was discussed the process of the creation of the Association of the agro producers in the Korcha region that will enable them to address their needs and support them in the organized approach towards the institution and the market.

The agro producers stated they need for networking in the region, in particular with the agro producers in Prespa region that will be enabled through the establishment of the cooperation with the Association of agro producers “Blagoj A. Kotlarovski” in Resen.

With the aim, transfer of experience and education for quality improvement of the fruits, the agro-producers from the regions Prespa and Korcha were part of a study visit in Slovakia and Hungary within the project “Innovative practices for environmental protection phase II” financed by the European Union.
